Commitments
Track what you promised
The thing you told someone you would do, still alive on Friday.
A to-do app records that a proposal is owed. It does not record that you owe it to John, that you said Friday, or that the thread is still open. Arden keeps the promise attached to the person, so on Friday it comes back as something you told someone rather than as a line on a list.
You say
“I told John he would have the proposal by Friday.”
Arden handles it
Commitment
Send proposal to John Chen
Person
John Chen, Northline
How it works
- 01
Arden creates the commitment and links it to John, so it shows up beside him, beside the thread, and in your day.
- 02
Arden checks your sent mail for the action you said you would take, and stays quiet if it already went out.
- 03
The loop comes back on Friday with the promise and the person, and checks whether you already sent the proposal first.
Things to say
You say
“I told John he would have the proposal by Friday.”
You say
“I owe Alexa the finance pack this week.”
You say
“Remind me what I still owe people before the weekend.”
Good for
- Promises made in passing
- Deals where a dropped follow-up costs money
- Knowing what you promised and to whom
- Ending the day without the mental audit
