Terms
Arden is in development. These terms cover the website and the waitlist today, and the app when it opens.
The state of things
Arden is not released. Joining the early access list is not a purchase. Nothing is being charged today, and there is nothing on this site to buy.
Features described on this site are what we are building. The section headed “what it doesn’t do yet” is an accurate list of the current limits, and we will keep it accurate.
Using the app
When Arden opens, you agree to use it for lawful purposes, with accounts you are entitled to connect. Do not connect an email account you do not have the right to read.
Arden proposes actions and you approve them. You remain responsible for what you send, book and agree to. Arden can be wrong; every action is previewed before it happens and recorded after it does, so you can catch it.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as-is while in development. We do not guarantee uptime, and we may change or remove features before launch.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using Arden. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Ending it
You can leave the waitlist by unsubscribing, and delete your account in the app once it exists. We may suspend an account that is being used to break the law or to harm other people.
Why we are allowed to hold it
For the early access list, the basis is your consent. You typed your address into a form that said what it was for, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to the address above. Withdrawing consent removes you from the list and deletes the record.
For the app, the basis is the contract between us: Arden cannot connect to your mailbox without your permission, and you grant that permission per account and can revoke it at any time.
We do not rely on legitimate interest to send you marketing, and we do not buy, rent or scrape email addresses. Every address on the list was typed in by the person who owns it.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it, or ask for it in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time. You will never be charged for any of this and you will never be treated differently for asking.
Write to hello@heyarden.app. We answer within 30 days, which is the PIPEDA deadline and inside the GDPR one.
If you are not satisfied with the answer you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your own supervisory authority if you are in the UK or the EEA. We would rather you told us first, but you do not have to.
How long we keep it
Early access records are kept until Arden opens and you either take up the invitation or ask to be removed, and are deleted within 30 days of a removal request. If the product never ships, the list is deleted.
Analytics data is aggregated and holds nothing that identifies you; the 24-hour hash Vercel uses is discarded on that schedule and never reaches us.
Where your data goes
The processors named above operate in the United States, so joining the list or using the app involves your information leaving Canada, the UK or the EEA. Those transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses. Storing it somewhere it never crossed a border is not something a product at this stage can honestly offer, so we are telling you instead of implying otherwise.
Children
Arden is a tool for people running companies. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16, and if we learn that we have, we delete it.
When this page changes
The date at the top is the date it last changed. If a change materially affects what happens to information we already hold, we email the people on the list rather than quietly editing the page.
